Tips for Creating Beautiful Photo Collages to Evoke Wonderful Memories

As you know we are in the digital age and at no other time in history have people taken so many photographs. This is mostly down to the ease of using digital cameras and iPhones etc. In times gone by you had to take a photograph, wait until the entire reel of film was used up before you could take it down to the local photo developing service.

Often when you went to pick the photos up, you would find out that unfortunately the pictures weren't great or light or damp had got in and destroyed the film rendering all your photographs worthless. The popularity of digital cameras is due to the fact that you can store hundreds and sometimes thousands of images on to a small portable memory stick and then transfer them to your computer within a matter of minutes.

The downside of the digital age and of using digital camera is that because it is so easy people often take hundreds of extra photographs than they would normally do with a standard camera. Rarely do these photos ever get printed though as they are stored on either hard drives or social medial websites. If you have a bunch of photographs that you would like to print I would suggest that you choose the best photographs and delete the rest. If you print these photographs off yourself or as a present and keep the original file you will always have a back-up in case anything happens to the photographs you have printed off.

A great present to someone or an idea for your home would be to create a collage picture frame of usually around ten to fifteen of the best photos you have. It is now inexpensive to buy multi frae collage picture frames as they are readily available in many of the discount stores. Another way would be to buy one large frame and a picture mount with many different apertures cut into it to display your photographs.

Whichever way you decide make sure that the collage has a theme. This could be improved on if the colour of the frame suites the theme that you have. For instance if your photographs were of your brightly coloured parrot it would be good to have a brightly coloured frame. Another theme could be your children growing up over the years and again, you can add to this when you feel the time is right. This is wonderful for any parent or grandparent and would make an ideal gift or surprise. I would say the most important factor would be to take your external memory card to a professional print shop and have them printed professionally as the quality will be far higher than any supermarket or home printer.

The next thing is to carefully install the photographs into the picture frame in an order that is meaningful. For example start with the baby pictures and move on through the years until you reach the child's current age. Milestones such as when your baby first walked or graduated from University would be ideal pictures.

We don't print as many photos as we used to, given that we now have our pictures stored on hard drives or memory sticks but a beautiful picture frame containing a collage of your memories would make a wonderful gift or addition to your home. A picture framing service service would be able to advise you on how you can display your photographs to their best advantage.
